Read the sermon summary: On Easter Sunday, we celebrate more than just a second chance. We celebrate a resurrection that makes us entirely new. In Acts 2, Peter proclaims that Jesus's death was no accident, but the fulfillment of God’s eternal plan. We see that his resurrection was inevitable. Death could not hold him. This resurrection fulfills the promises of God and results in the pouring out of the Holy Spirit, the exaltation of Jesus as both Lord and Christ, and a call to respond. The resurrection demands a decision: will we repent, trust in him, and receive the Holy Spirit? In Jesus, we don’t just get a do-over. We get new life forever in the presence of God.
