Worship Preparation - March 23, 2025
Read the sermon text: 1 Peter 1:3-12
Read the sermon summary: Last Sunday, we saw our identity as elect exiles. Because of our God-given identity, we live in this world as strangers in a foreign land. This foundation gives us strength to endure the trials we face. This Sunday we will see that we can not only endure trials, but also rejoice in them because of the work of Christ. Through Christ’s resurrection, we have a living hope and an imperishable inheritance kept secure by God. Though we face trials, they refine our faith, proving its genuineness and leading to inexpressible joy in Christ. Our salvation is so great that even prophets and angels longed to see its fulfillment. This passage calls us to stand firm in hope, knowing that God’s power sustains us until our salvation is fully revealed.
Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:
Build My Life
Verse 1
Worthy of ev'ry song we could ever sing
Worthy of all the praise we could ever bring
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe
We live for You
Verse 2
Jesus the name above ev'ry other name
Jesus the only one who could ever save
Worthy of ev'ry breath we could ever breathe
We live for You
We live for You
Chorus
Holy there is no one like You
There is none beside You
Open up my eyes in wonder and show me who You are
And fill me with Your heart
And lead me in Your love to those around me
Bridge
I will build my life upon Your love
It is a firm foundation
I will put my trust in You alone
And I will not be shaken
