Worship Preparation - March 30, 2025
Read the sermon text: 1 Peter 1:13-25
Read the sermon summary: So far in 1 Peter, we have been considering our identity as elect exiles. Last Sunday we saw how the work of God in our salvation results in our inexpressible joy and praise. This Sunday we will begin to consider what this God-given status means for how we live during our exile. We see that our on-the-ground obedience is directly related to who we are in relation to the Father and what he has done for us. In preparation for the sermon consider the following questions: What contrasts do you notice in the passage? What main commands do you see in the passage?
Read the following song lyrics in relation to the sermon:
In The Hands Of Christ My King
Verse 1
Come Holy Spirit move in power
Ignite my heart with Your holy fire
Show me the Father show me the Son
Revive my soul again O Spirit come
Chorus
(Because) All my hope is found
In the hands of Christ my King
May my life be found
In the hands of Christ my King
Verse 2
Come Holy Spirit fill me up
Till I am carried by Your rising flood
Show me the Father show me the Son
Revive my soul again O Spirit come
Bridge
If You're not here I don't want to be
I won't be moved unless You move
I want You more than the air I breathe
I need You I need You
Ending
Here in the hands of Christ my King
